Major James Stewart's Missions with the 453rd Bombardment Group

30.March.44
Major Stewart joins the 453rd BG after completing his time with the 455th BG serving as Commanding Officer.

Major Stewart served the 453rd for only three short months, (30.March.44 - 02.July.44)during this time the 453rd flew 18 missions in April, 21 missions in May, 24 in June, and one more additional in July while Major Stewart was still in command.. During this time with the 453rd Major Stewart flew 8 additional missions, these missions are being researched for accuracy.

Stewart #1 - MISSION # 33 – 0BERPFAFFENHAFEN,GERMANY – 13 APR. – THURS.

Major Stewart led on his first mission with the 453rd since his arrival as Group Operations Officer.

Stewart #2 - MISSION # 60 – TROYES, FRANCE – 25 MAY – THURS.

24 Libs in two Squadrons of 12 each, led by Major James M. Stewart, pointed their blunt noses toward the marshalling yards at Troyes, France.
